Sometimes, you just want a relaxed day out by the sea rather than a full-blown hike – and that’s exactly what we got at the dog friendly Marazion Beach. The gang is always on the lookout for dog-friendly spots that offer a bit of interest for both two- and four-legged travellers, and Marazion didn’t disappoint. It’s not just about the stretch of golden sand, but the incredible views across to St Michael’s Mount.

Finding Our Way
We parked at the Initial Parking – Marazion West car park (TR17 0EQ), which is conveniently close to the beach entrance. From there, we strolled along the sand, the girls trotting happily beside us with their leads loose enough for them to nose around the shoreline. While this isn’t a huge walk, it’s a good excuse to stretch your legs, take in the sea air, and enjoy the glorious scenery.

A Hint of Adventure
Following the path to St Michael’s Mount, Gambá and Pequi were absolutely fascinated by the calls of seabirds overhead – though we made sure to keep them on lead so they didn’t decide to go for a salty chase!
Taking in the Views
One of the best things about Marazion Beach is its soft sand and shallow waters (at least at low tide!). You can walk right out and get a unique perspective of St Michael’s Mount rising majestically from the bay. If the tide’s out, you can even see people picking their way across the causeway to explore the island. We didn’t venture that far on this trip, but it’s certainly an option if you’re feeling adventurous.

Dog Friendly Marazion Beach Vibes
In terms of dog access, Marazion Beach has seasonal restrictions in certain areas, so do check the official Cornwall Council website or local signage if you’re visiting in peak summer. Fortunately, during our September visit, we had no trouble with dog restrictions, thought we went late in the day, and the gates were already closed, so we did not venture inside the village. We met a few fellow dog walkers along the way, and everyone was cheerful and courteous, making it a pleasant experience all around.

After soaking up the beach atmosphere, we looped back to the car park, taking a moment to admire the changing light on the water.
Marazion Beach may not be a challenging hike, but it’s a lovely way to spend an a couple of hours with your canine companions. Whether you’re after a scenic wander or simply an excuse to enjoy the Cornish coast, this is one spot I highly recommend popping on your list.
Cheers,
Ademar
